Is Routine OS free to use right now?
Yes. The app is in early access and free while we finalize the long-term plan structure. No payment, no trial timer. You sign in with Google or email/password so your routines sync across devices — that’s it. Anything that changes later will be grandfathered in fairly for existing users.
Do I need the hardware to use Routine OS?
No. The app stands on its own. The hardware companion is for people who want their phone out of their morning or out of their workday shutdown — it’s the same app, different physical form.
Will there be a paid tier?
Yes, eventually. We’re still deciding exactly what sits in it. The short answer: the core — designing, running, and tracking routines — will always be free. The paid tier will focus on depth (history, analytics, deeper coach voice, exports). We’ll share the split clearly before anything changes.
When does the hardware ship?
Two tracks. Small-batch, hand-built early versions target mid to late 2026 for waitlist members who want a working device sooner — beta hardware, not polished. Production hardware follows once the design is locked. Waitlist signups get first access to both.
Is there a team / family plan?
Not yet. It’s on the roadmap. If you’d use one, reply to any newsletter and say so — that’s how features get prioritized.
