Routine OS is a routine-execution app (and forthcoming hardware device) for people who’ve quit habit trackers but not on themselves.

Routine OS helps people design, run, and stick to the daily routines that matter — morning anchors, workday shutdowns, evening wind-downs. Paired with a companion hardware device (small-batch early versions mid to late 2026; production hardware to follow), it moves routine execution off the phone entirely. Built by an independent engineer with a passion for hardware solutions. Self-funded, long time horizon.

Most habit-tracking apps measure whether a box got checked. Routine OS was built around a different premise: the point is the run — the actual sequence of steps, in order, with timers, at the time that matters. Tracking is the byproduct, not the product.

The product has three surfaces: a full web app today (native iOS and Android apps are next on the roadmap); a forthcoming Pro tier (details being finalized); and a small, tactile hardware companion, in active development, that runs routines without a screen worth scrolling. The goal: make the phone stop being the bottleneck between you and your morning.
