Terms of service
Last updated: April 17, 2026
Thanks for using Routine OS. These are the terms you agree to by using the site or the app. Plain English version below.
The short version
- Don’t do anything illegal or malicious with the product.
- Don’t abuse other users in the community.
- Own your content. Be responsible for what you post publicly.
- We’ll do our best to keep the service running, but no guarantees.
- If something goes wrong, our liability is capped at what you’ve paid us (if anything) in the past 12 months.
- We can update these terms; we’ll tell you when we do.
Who we are
Routine OS is run by a sole founder in the United States. References to “we”, “us”, or “the service” mean Routine OS. You can reach us at tablerockstudiosdev@gmail.com.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian should be involved.
- You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If your account is compromised, email us.
- One human per account. Don’t share accounts or create multiple accounts to evade limits.
What you can do
You can use Routine OS for any lawful personal or professional purpose. You can:
- Build unlimited routines for your own use
- Share routines publicly with the community
- Export your data at any time
- Cancel any time with no penalty
What you can’t do
You can’t use Routine OS to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users (in comments, routine names, display names, or anywhere else).
- Upload content that violates someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Post spam, malware, or content that encourages illegal activity.
- Reverse-engineer the product to build a competitor. (Using it, learning from it, writing about it, building adjacent products — all fine. Cloning it to compete is not.)
- Scrape the site or app in a way that burdens our infrastructure. Polite automation for personal use is fine; commercial scraping is not.
- Attempt to bypass our security measures, access other users’ data, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission.
If you want to do something we haven’t listed and you’re not sure, email us. We’re usually pretty permissive for good-faith uses.
Your content
You own what you create. The routines you build, the runs you log, the comments you post — all yours.
When you mark something public (a routine, a comment, a vote), you grant us a non-exclusive license to display it to other users of the service for as long as it’s public. Make it private and we stop displaying it.
You’re responsible for the legality of what you post. If you upload someone else’s copyrighted content without permission, that’s on you. We’ll respond to valid DMCA takedown notices.
Paid plans
The Routine OS app is free to use during early access. A paid Pro tier and a hardware bundle are planned; their final pricing and terms will be published on the pricing page before they launch. The policies below describe the default terms we plan to operate under — we’ll update this page with anything more specific as the paid offerings ship.
- Billing, when introduced, will renew on a monthly or annual basis until you cancel.
- Cancellation will be self-serve in-app — no retention-specialist phone calls.
- If you cancel a paid plan, access continues through the end of your current billing period, then reverts to the then-current free tier.
- Refunds: we’ll refund within the first 14 days of a paid purchase if you email us and ask. After that, we generally don’t refund, but life happens — if something legitimate came up, email us.
Hardware pre-orders (future)
If and when hardware pre-orders open, the terms will include specific shipment, refund, and warranty details. We’ll flag them clearly at the point of purchase. The short version expected to apply: full refund until the product ships, one-year warranty on manufacturing defects, reasonable customer-support windows.
Service availability
We try to keep the service running 24/7. But we don’t guarantee uptime. Outages happen. Data loss is extremely unlikely but possible. We recommend exporting your routines periodically if they’re important to you.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. For serious violations (abuse, illegal activity), termination may be immediate. For lesser issues we’ll usually email and give you a chance to correct.
Disclaimer
Routine OS is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We don’t claim it will make you healthier, more productive, or a better person. We think it will help some people with some things. But it’s a software tool and it has the limits software tools have.
Nothing in the app or on the site is medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. If you need professional advice, talk to a professional.
Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law: our liability to you is capped at the greater of (a) $100 or (b) what you’ve paid us in the past 12 months. We aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits. If you’re in one of those, these sections apply only as much as they’re allowed to.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top and, for material changes, email signed-in users and newsletter subscribers. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, specifically the state where the founder resides (details available on request). Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that state, unless a different process is mutually agreed.
